How to Reset/Recover your Password

Sometimes you lose or forget your password. Unfortunately, once you’ve forgotten your password, we can’t tell you what it is, because we have no way of knowing or finding out.

Instead, you must tell the system to give you the chance to reset it. Here’s the process for resetting your password:

Go to the SVC website login page, at :

Notice that, at the bottom, there is a ‘Lost your password?‘ link (it’s a link, despite not being blue).

Click on that link, and you will be taken to a web page that looks like this:

Follow the instructions, and click on the Get New Password button.

Note that, if you choose to enter your email address, it must be the one you’re registered with on the website.
If you’ve changed your email address, tell us and we can change your email address, and then you can complete this process with the new email address.

This will result in you seeing something like the following:

Note the message at the top of this page: “Check your email for the confirmation link.” !!!!!!

Note also that this email must be the email address you are registered with on the website.

You cannot log in yet. You must first go to your email, and look for an email message that looks something like this:

The extra step of sending an email message is to ensure that it’s really you, and not someone else, who is trying to reset your password.

Once you’ve received the message, click on the convoluted link at the bottom of the message, just below where it says “To reset your password, visit the following address”, which will take you to a web page that looks like the following:

Enter your new password, and click on the ‘Reset Password’ button. Once you’ve done that, you can log into the website using your existing username and new password.

Note that the form comes already populated with a strong, but very hard to remember, password. You’ll probably find it easier to come up with your own — but make it long and complex and memorable enough so it’s both secure and unforgettable.
